WORKSHOP OVERVIEW

Build-A-Baddie is a guided, hands-on art workshop where participants paint a custom 3D figurine and mount it onto an iridescent ceramic shell inspired by The Birth of Venus. The final piece functions as both a sculptural artwork and a functional trinket tray, symbolizing self-worth, intention, and personal power.

Participants are led through accessible painting techniques, creative intention-setting, and assembly, leaving with a finished object that represents their future self.

Participants Will:

Explore figurative painting through a contemporary, empowering lens

Learn foundational painting techniques on 3D surfaces

Engage in mindful, confidence-building creative practice

Create a functional art object that reflects identity and self-expression

The Syllabus

Workshop Breakdown

90-120 Minutes

    • Introduction to the Build-A-Baddie concept

    • Brief art history nod to The Birth of Venus

    • Setting the tone: creativity, play, confidence, and intention

    • Guided reflection:

      • Who is your inner-baddie becoming this year?

      • What qualities does she embody?

    • Participants choose colors, symbols, and vibes aligned with their intention

    • Demonstration of:

      • Painting on resin/3D surfaces

      • Layering, blending, and detailing

      • Embracing imperfections and personal style

    • Encouragement of experimentation and self-trust

    • Participants paint their figurines at their own pace

    • Instructor circulates, offering feedback and encouragement

    • Light conversation + affirming prompts to keep energy high

    • Adhering the figurine onto the iridescent shell

    • Discussion of symbolism: grounding your intention into something tangible

    • Optional show-and-tell

    • Reflection on process and intention

    • Encouragement to place the tray somewhere meaningful as a daily reminder
